Bio Overview
Greg Rogers brings 25 years’ experience across consultancy, corporate and government roles spanning international trade and investment, economic development, innovation and government relations. This includes over 17 years of FDI client facing experience and a variety of roles working for national, regional and local IPAs.

Since 2024 Greg has established Market Entry Leaders Ltd and developed two FDI generative AI learning and development courses to help frontline IPA teams target, personalise, scale, consult and convert High Value mobile FDI more consistently. IPA teams benefit from his unique blend of FDI attraction experience and practical Gen AI insights, making the learning experience informative, engaging and people centric, helping IPA pros to learn faster and perform smarter.​
Career History
Prior to setting up Market Entry Leaders Ltd, Greg worked as a management consultant at Gateley Global (part of Gateley Plc) between 2022-23 as Senior Investment Adviser on the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority Growth Works programme. He also co-managed the Cambridge Go Global programme for Cambridge City Council
Greg led the Mid-term Review of the Invest Bristol and Bath regional inward investment service for the West of England Combined Authority. This involved running two workshops with the Combined Authority, interviews with the four Council senior leadership teams, the Bristol Mayor and West of England Mayor, as well as stakeholder and service user interviews, regional benchmarking and policy analysis, and the delivery of strategic and operational recommendations.

Greg delivered UK market entry planning seminars in London and Cambridge for international delegations of scalesups from markets such as Latin America and India in partnerships with trade and investment promotion agencies and other business networks. He also produced market entry thought leadership articles with contributions from experts across the Gateley Plc group to help global scaleup C-suites teams to derisk their international expansion.

Greg's career spans government relations consultancy, public sector innovation strategy consultancy, local economic regeneration, inward investment consultancy and legal services business development.
​
He graduated from the University of Bath with a BSc (2:1) in Politics with Economics in 1999 including a 12 month placement at Bell Pottinger Public Affairs during the first year of the New Labour administration delivering Parliamentary monitoring services to corporate, charity and professional association clients. He returned to Westminster government relations consultancy after graduating to manage the Parliamentary Monitoring Unit at Connect Public Affairs.

Greg won an ESRC scholarship in 2001 to pursue his research interest in regional economic development, undertaking an MSc in European Regional Development at Cardiff University with a focus on regional innovation policy.
​
After completing his post-graduate degree, Greg worked as a research consultant at CM International on innovation strategy development and programme review assignments for the European Commission, Irish Government, Welsh Government, London Development Agency, the English Regional Development Agencies, and other public sector clients. This included contributing to the Irish Government's services innovation policy framework and innovation strategies for London and Northern Ireland.

In 2008 Greg joined the Economic Regeneration team at Bristol City Council where he established the Invest in Bristol brand and project managed an inward investment marketing campaign including the promotion of the Bristol Temple Quarter development project at MIPIM in 2012 with the Bristol property industry.

His subsequent FDI career has included working as a consultant between 2012-18 for PA Consulting and EY on the Department for International Trade (DIT) Investment Services Team contract. This involved roles as an Investment Project Adviser in the Energy, Environment and Infrastructure Team working with new investors entering the UK market and as a Sector Investment Manager working with existing investors in the Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing sectors. Greg worked closely with the overseas network of British Embassies and Consulates, as well as local and commercial partners to attract high value FDI to the UK.

Following the EU Referendum, Greg worked as an International Trade and Real Estate Business Development Manager for top 50 UK law firm, Burges Salmon LLP between 2018-21. He project managed a successful joint bid with US law firm Arent Fox to be appointed to the UK government's Trade Law Panel (International Trade Negotiations). Greg advised the firm's Head of Trade and board on inward investment marketing strategy and oversaw the delivery of the UK Investment Launchpad service.​

Outside of work, Greg's interests include volunteering at a community cafe for refugees and asylum seekers and at a centre for international students. He enjoys walking his adventurous dog in the forest each day and the occasional trip into the mountains. Greg has developed an abstract art collection of nature marbles combining his interests in generative AI and nature photography. He sells these designs via a range of greeting cards at a community garden market.
